Our story

Built on local ground

GeoRadar Australia began in 2008 in Emerald, Central Queensland, founded by driller Ian Payne - and in the early years the mines were 90% of the work. Jimmy Wilkins joined as a locator, stepped up to management, then took the company over as Ian moved into retirement, bringing it home to Bundaberg and rebuilding it around civil, government and everyday Queensland jobs. Today we operate three branches across Bundaberg, Rockhampton and Emerald - still family owned, with nearly half the crew family in fact - working from the Sunshine Coast to Mackay and west to the Northern Territory border.

Today we specialise in making the invisible visible - locating and identifying underground services, safely exposing them with non-destructive hydro excavation, and keeping drains and pipes clear, inspected and understood. Our work is a quality-assurance tool that protects people, infrastructure and project timelines.

We're Dial Before You Dig accredited, and our certified operators bring local knowledge to every site. Whether it's a single pothole or an entire network, we deliver a safe, efficient service - on time and on budget.
